It´s been a while since Double wars and I should have written this a long time ago but life happened. The autumn before DW XXX I got a question if I would like to be responsible of the art & sciences activites. After some conversations with Mistress Lia and Mesterinne Katheryn, who have done this before me I said yes.
The first thing to solve was who to invite as this years guest teacher. This part was both the best and the worst! What if I would mess up! I asked a lot of people for there advice and many names came up. After some months with trying to find someone that where able to come (and a bit of panic) I contacted Mistress Mathilde that was the guest laurel two years before and asked if she could help me. I got some names sent to me, one of the names where on my list of recommended people (that no one I talked to so far had meet irl). But Mathilde had and said that she thought he would be a great teacher. So in February I sent an e-mail to Master Vyncent and asked if he would like travel the sea and come and teach us about shoemaking. I got a positive respons. Many e-mails where sent and as DW where coming closer I was really looking forward to meet him.
Friday: We arrived at the site on the first Friday and when our tent was halfway up I left Einar with the rest and went to pick up our guest at the train station. As expected Master Vyncent turned out to be a awesome person! Before we started our drive to the site I told him that I promised that I wasn´t a crazy person who was going to kidnap him but that I now where going to drive into the dark forest on a very small road….

Saturday: I spent the day with sorting out things in our tent and arrange all papers, list and things for the A&S. On the afternoon Tece and Erik arrived and some more tent was built in Camp Clueless <3.
Sunday: Vyncents first class about shoemaking started and we decided that since the weather was so nice we would move the class outdoors to our camp. He had wonderful goodie bags for us with nicely prepared shoe pieces. It was a bit like christmas!

Monday: More shoe classes for me and the other participants, we learned a lot of things and wax, wax, wiggle, wiggle was a very important part!
At Nordmarks court that evening Master Vilhelm was declared a saint and became the second honorary member of Baggeholm. Luna and Torbjörn had prepared an awesome stunt and it was hilarious!

Tuesday: The morning started of with a lot of laughter and coffee! Then we worked some more on our shoes.
The evening/night was spent with watching the Nordmark pricipality tournament and then we went back to our camp thinking that an early night would be a great idea! Instead this happened:
Wednesday: The morning where spent with more shoe making, after lunch I prepared for the Blank scroll competition and looked at the Laurel prize display where people showed there wonderful crafts. The evening was spent at court where Master Eirik was put into vigil to become a knight.
Thursday: Me and Viscountess Filippa taught a class on frilles and ruffles before lunch. I visited the market and spent almost no money at all! Almost.
At the afternoon I finished my shoes. It took a while but it was so worth it! Now I know how to make shoes and bristels.
At court Countess Jovi was sent to vigil to become a pelican and court was followed by the Knäckebröds cermony. When the cermony was over I attended Jovis vigil <3.

Friday: I started the day with trying to track up all wonderful people who taught a class at Double wars. The token I gave them was a wax/stearin/tar dipped candle light that me and Einar had made.
After lunch I tried to shoot some arrows. It ended up with some big bruises! It turned out that I was a left hand shooter? and that I rally need some arm strength! However it was very fun and I´m glad that Marc and Torun hade patience with me and that Torun lend my her bow. Sometime I while try it out more!
Then followed some axe throwing, I of course entered on the flatside and it hurts to say that we did lose that part to the holyside. But since flatside won the war anyway I can live with that. It was fun to do some marshaling! I really am looking forward to be able to go to Pennsic again so that I can authorize as a thrown weapons marshal. Until then I´m happy that Isabetta can keep an eye on me!
At the evenings court I was honored with a Lindquistringe. Thank you so very much <3. Jovi had her pelican cermony. Then my dear friend Viscount Torbjörn was put into vigil to become a knight. After court I was given a wonderful pouch from Countess Izabella and Countess Anna as a thank you for the scrolls that I made for them. It was kind of an emotion overload court and I cried like a baby!
At Torbjörns vigil I was asked to speak for him as a member of the populace. I said yes and I´m very honored that I got to do this for him. I meet Torbjörn at my second event in the SCA and we have known each other since then so it wasn´t hard to find things to say!
Saturday: Breakfast and speech preparing. Thank you Alienor, Tece and Camp clueless for helping me gather my words and thoughts! Then followed court with Torbjörns knighting. After this a familyphoto was taken and tents where taken down.
The last night I spent in the sauna with friends, drinking water and preparing for going home.
Sunday: Packing our things and then helping out with some cleaning and other stuff before heading home.
Since it´s some months ago I may have forgotten in what order things happened.
Of course there were a lot of fun things happening but I will not write about all those things here. But remember “Borsta tänderna när du är riktigt glad”!
The courts where full of wonderful things that I have not mentioned but they are still saved as lovely memories. This years DW the most time was spend on making shoes and A&S organization. The most of the work was done at home before the event and this made it possible for me to have the chance and learn some new stuff.
Once again, Thank you all who are willing to share your knowledge to others so that we all can learn new things<3. While making shoes I also got the opportunity to get to know some new people and to learn more about friends I already knew! It was well spend hours! And Master Vyncent, thank you again for coming to Double wars and teach!
